Hello Beautiful Highlites. How's your new year going? Are you sticking to those resolutions? I don't really make resolutions, I really try to work on myself all year long. I try to be better than yesterday everyday. But hubby and I do make goals.

On New Year's Eve, Hubby and I always set aside time with one another on the couch or lay in bed to intentionally discuss what and how we can make our year a little better than the last. We discus our finances (our money moves), our marriage relationship, our friendship. our retirement all things most seasoned people talk about.

We write down our goals, and talk about how and what it will take to achieve them. We try to make them realistic and measurable so we can reach them. We say a little prayer, thanking God for this year past and the new year that He will continue to bless us.

But one of our most important goal is prioritizing and investing in our marriage, not that it hasn't always been a priority I believe that every marriage need continuance attention. I believe the best gift you can give yourself and your spouse (and children) is the feeling of a healthy, loving marriage and that takes a lot of work. Marriage is like another full time job, working on it everyday.

It takes work to stay madly in love and sometimes, we get lazy. life takes over.  But, one goal I'm excited about is Our list of 20 new things we would like to do together in 2018. Writing them down posting them on the fridge is a reminder, but also keep us accountable to our commitment, and a source of ideas when the dreaded question "So what should we do tonight? is asked.

In these pictures above, I'm wearing this black and white polka dot skirt (that I love) and black and white off the shoulder top, both were purchased at Rainbow Shops. Oh! And my bag was open on every picture, it was also purchased at Rainbow.

Continue to have a wonderful year Highlites and Thanks for stopping by. See you next time.
