5 Simple Goals for November


Hello beautiful Highlites. It's already the third day of November and my how time flies. In the pictures above I'm wearing a pair of burgundy wide leg pants and a simple black body suit and my classic pointed toe pumps and the oh so cute handbag.

With it being the start of the a new month, we're almost at the end of the year, I decided to set a few goals for the month, I hope and pray that I can fulfill them all:

1. Start a gratitude journal.

But instead I will use the gratitude jar, I will dump a grateful card in the jar each day. I have so much to be grateful and thankful for, and I think I forget sometimes how truly blessed I am. I'm going to carve between 10 to 15 minutes to write on a card each day and to meditate, giving thanks to God for another day and all the many things he has blessed me with. Starting with my amazing husband! :)

2. Explore two new places around town. 

Whether it is a new restaurant, (I'm not a big eater so I try not to waste money on eating out) or a new museum, a new mall (scratch) this one is going to interfere in my next one. Or amusement park, or a new walking trail. It will be a place or places I've never went.

3. Trying the envelope system.

Well, I kind of started this one last month using a bank. In order to save money and get a little wiser with my spending, I'm going to budget out my money for the month and keep my cash in envelopes. I think I might be more conscious of how I spend my money. I didn't realize how much money I really spend until I decluttered my closets last month. I have so much stuff.

4. Volunteer this month even if it's just one day.

I was really big on volunteering before my grandchildren were born. I loved giving back to my community. I felt so good being able to do something for others. I can't wait to incorporate this passion back into my life.

5. Take a "me" day.

Some people might not think this is a goal, but so many people are so busy looking after everyone else that they sometimes forget about ourselves. I'm not big on spas but the idea of spending a whole entire day doing something I love sounds great. 

These are a few goal ideas to nourish my mind, body and soul I hope so that I can continue to live high on life.
